Delayed Gratification

Patience goes beyond the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a stay calm while waiting. No decision will pay off more than prioritizing your life and giving extreme focus and energy to the things with the highest return. What do you even need a girlfriend for? They specialize in the mismanagement of scarce resources and offer very little in return. Leave her!

Never put off till tomorrow the fun you can have today. The gratification comes in the doing, not in the results. The results don’t tell the story of how you died twice in the process. Delayed gratification is one of the things we ignore these days. And if you delay it, it becomes more pleasurable later. So don’t be in a hurry to get married just yet. Delay it. Deny your parents too.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. Keep losing on FC24, it’s the training you need to becoming a better gamer. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. At your current pace you’re well on your way to be crowned God’s strongest soldier for the third year in a row. Big win.

The ability to delay gratification has implications not only on a person’s life, but also for a community, for a people, for a country. Our politicians prefer to steal today and forget about tomorrow. If they could make one minor tweak and set the nation in the right direction in terms of wealth creation, then we will be happy to overlook a little pilfering of the national coffers every now and then.

Parents who have been successful in acquiring more often have a difficult time saying no to the demands of overindulged children. Essentially, in amassing too much wealth, I run the risk of becoming a bad parent. At least that’s what I intend to tell my son when we run out of groceries again. Time to sell off some property and go on a vacation with the wife.

Discipline is the strongest form of self love. I believe the sign of maturity is accepting deferred gratification. The rich practice delayed gratification, the poor practice instant gratification. I practice deferred gratification. Which is why I am comfortably middle class. My wish for you is that you will get what is coming for you and you will not escape it 🫵🏿
