With languages you are at home anywhere. Man invented languages to satisfy his deep need to complain. The only thing better than speaking two languages is being able to make jokes in two languages. 600 languages in the world and you decide you wanna talk shit.

If the GH sound in ENOUGH is pronounced “F” and the “O” in WOMEN makes the short “i” sound and the “TI” in “NATION” is pronounced “SH” then the word “GHOTI” is pronounced just like “FISH”. Welcome to the English language. As useless as the “B” in “DEBT”.

You should learn languages because language is the only thing worth knowing even poorly. I’m always impressed by people who can speak another language, two people talking what sounds like utter gibberish, yet making complete sense to each other never fails to entertain. 

English is difficult. It can be understood though through tough thorough thought. English doesn’t borrow from other languages. English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over with a baton and goes through their pockets for loose grammar. 

Why is English so fun? Try this! All the faith he had had had had no effect on the outcome of his life. We speak of brother, and also brethren. But though we say mother, we’re never say methren. The masculine pronouns are he, his, and him. But imagine the feminine, she, shis and shim!

Sadly, the days of people using proper English are went. We use so much bad language that it forms a barrier between ourselves and the truth. Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things.

    Don’t even get me started on Phonics 😭 I find it so ridiculous that I try to skip the class when teaching as a tutor 😂
