Bad Marriages

A bad marriage is worse than no marriage at all. When someone is murdered, the police investigate the spouse first. And that tells you everything you need to know about marriage. Marry someone who has a different favorite cereal. People have been murdered for less. 

You want to know what marriage is really like? Fine. You wake up, she’s there. You come back from work, she’s there. You fall asleep, she’s there. You eat dinner, she’s there. You know? I mean, I know that sounds like a bad thing. But it’s really not. Except maybe it is. 

In every good marriage, it pays sometimes to be a little deaf. You see, love is blind but marriage is the eye opener. Marriage has no guarantees. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’re better off with a car battery. Vows are renewable though unlike most batteries. 

To keep your marriage brimming with love, whenever you’re wrong, admit it. And whenever you’re right, shut up. Make sure you respect your partner more than you love them. Because you can cause a lot of damage to them while still loving them. Love is never enough. 

Marriage is about finding what irritates your spouse and using it strategically. Husbands are like wine, they take long to mature and are easy to trigger. Getting married is like trading the adoration of many for the sarcasm of one. If you still enjoy the spotlight, you’re not ready. 

Marriage consists of three rings: Engagement ring, Wedding ring and Suffering. Whatever you tolerate during dating will multiple ten fold during marriage. Time reveals all. Marry for love, but the obvious side benefit of having someone around to help find the remote…

  8. Insightful and real, marriage isn’t without it’s trials, but I still see it as a journey worth taking with the right person. Marriage is about compromise, because you’re not coming from the same background, and understanding each other makes all the difference.
