The first lesson you should know about gambling is, if you see someone winning all the time, he’s not gambling. He’s cheating! Everyone, except gamblers know that gambling never pays. Losing like winning only increases your determination to play. A false promise. 

Gambling is the sure way to get nothing from something. It’s only a gambling problem if you’re losing. The safest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it in your pocket. Gambling takes away your best years. The better the gambler, the worse the man. 

There are two great pleasures of gambling: that of winning and that of losing. At gambling, the deadly sin is to mistake bad play for bad luck. You’re not unlucky, you’re retarded. Just take a look at your picks! Even if Lady Luck passed by, you were nailed on to miss her. 

What is life if not a gamble? Gambling addiction hotlines would be so much more effective if the 10th caller was a winner. Gambling isn’t just an addiction, it’s a dedication.  For this purpose there are no clocks in Las Vegas casinos. It’s not by accident, but by design. 

A gambler is nothing but a man who makes his living out of false hope. It’s hard to walk away from a winning streak, even harder to leave the table when you’re on a losing one. The harshest lesson gambling will teach you is the difference between having fun and being smart. 

It’s winning that counts, not taking part. What’s the difference between praying in the church and praying in the casino? In the casino you really mean it! A friend of mine won $100k! Part of it went to gambling, and part of it on women. The rest he spent foolishly. 

Sometimes the only way out is to go all in.

  1. My younger brother is a gambling addict so much of what you’ve written rings true for me. Gamblers NEVER win. They think they do, but what has winning $1000 in poker REALLY cost them? Probably half a million.

    Before i Lost Effective Use
    of my Eyes and Ears with that
    Worst Pain Disorder that exists
    for 66 Months from Wake to Sleep
    Then And All i Could Do is Basically Write
    with my Eyes almost Closed Shut to Withstand
    The Never Ending Waking Hours of Pain and Numb

    With No Sounds that Enhanced the Pain even more

    Analyzing all the Fine Print of Life Ain’t No Way Anyone

    Support The Casino
    Owner’s Black Hole
    of Debt Mostly For those
    Older Folks on Fixed Incomes

    Feeding the One Armed Bandits
    And the Such Full Once a Month

    my Father’s Dream to get Rich Playing
    Around 500 Bucks of His Retirement
    Each Week on Florida Lotto Tickets

    True in 11 Years of Doing that
    He Supported A lot of ‘Charitable

    Contributions to Florida Education’ That Way

    Yet of Course Never to Achieve his Dream of Riches

    Only Giving
    His Money
    Away to the House
    Always Wins Unless
    The ‘King of Bankruptcies’

    Is In charge of Incompetence

    That Way too Most Folks Wouldn’t
    Hire that Record for ‘Dog Catcher’

    Yet True Con-Men Will Be Con-Men

    No Matter How

    Poor of a Job

    They Do Conning
    Folks Ignorant Enough
    To Swallow All the Bait
    Hook Line and Sinker Down

    Into the

    of Never

    Just Being Naked Enough
    Whole Complete Doing Life

  9. I have an opinion that “FAITH” in itself is a GAMBLE. The substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen …but then so is risk….you have to just take a bold step….you gamble with your visa appointment too, hoping it would be approved…in the end, life itself is a sure gamble…just hope you win and if you don’t , you keep at it till you win.
