The Waiting Game

We’re all waiting for something. All things will come to the person who waits, provided they know what they’re are waiting for. My advice, never keep anyone long and don’t wait too long. Waiters and quitters have just a slight difference but a common end. Waiting for the movie to start before eating your popcorn is the hardest thing ever. Especially when it’s coated in caramel. The hardest part about making dinner is waiting for the delivery man.

Waiting is still an occupation. It is having nothing to wait for that is terrible. Waiting and hoping are the whole of life, and as soon as a dream is realized it is destroyed. Waiting is a sin against both the time that is still to come. Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle. Waiting is not mere empty hoping. It has the inner certainty of reaching the goal. It may look like I’m doing nothing, but I’m actively waiting for my problems to go away.

Waiting is a trap. It is a sin against the moments you’re currently disregarding. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons, and results, and reasons simply don’t count. There is nothing to be gained by waiting for a better situation. You see where you are and you do what you can with that. What we are waiting for is not as important as what happens to us while we are waiting. Trust the process.

If you are waiting for anything to live and love without holding back, then you suffer. Every moment is the most important moment of your life. No future time is better than now to let down your guard and love. People wait all week for Friday, all year for summer, all life for happiness. I do hate when I forget to press send and I’m seating there like an idiot, waiting for a reply. Love is around the corner, better things come to those who don’t give up.

You usually have to wait for that which is worth waiting for. And that’s why everyone waits quietly at restaurants. I would not sit waiting for some value tomorrow, or for something to happen. If you do, you could wait for a lifetime. I would make something happen. Or tomorrow. Or the day after. You get the point! I’m not lazy, I’m waiting for inspiration to hit me…should be any minute now. The best things come to those who believe. And with that, I’m ready to open a church.

Don’t wait! Start on your dreams, your impulses, your longings, your special occasions today. Because this is your moment. If you wait to do everything until you’re sure it’s right, you’ll probably never do much of anything. If you wait, all that happens is that you get older. Don’t wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it. If you’re waiting for me to give a shit about you, better pack a lunch. It’s gonna be a while.

To whatever you are waiting for. Peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance. It will surely come to you, but only when you are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart. Can I get a hallelujah? They say good things come to those who wait. It’s your choice whether or not to believe that crap. Get patience. Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. If you’re waiting for a sign…

  2. A good friend I met in the discounter told me a few days ago that she wanted to visit me in order to talk to each other in peace. Of course she won’t, and I’m not waiting for her either. It was just an empty phrase, and actually an innocent one.

    1. haha, why is this exchange so funny to me.

It’s like when I’m on the phone and I say “We’ll talk later”

I take that as code for “We won’t speak again until one of us dies” ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. Great post. I agree it is hard to wait for the movie to start before you eat the popcorn. It tastes so much better in a movie theater I don’t know why. It must be the smell. I always have a handful as soon as I sit down. Why wait?.

  4. I haven’t got time to sit and wait. Time waits for no-one.
If I lay awake tonight waiting for the text message to tell me what time the food truck will arrive tomorrow I will loose sleep waiting, so why wait.

Anyway thanks for an excellent post. Goodnight ๐Ÿ’ค.
