Why I Hate This Generation

Communication. This generation simply refuses to communicate. Or maybe they can’t? It’s appalling. Communication to a relationship is like oxygen, without it, it dies. Two things can destroy a relationship, unrealistic expectations, and poor communication. Actually make that three things, lying on impulse is one of them. You’re only allowed to lie twice a year, after which you have to wait for a new year to renew. No relationship can last without proper communication. And you cannot be the only one communicating. Reminds me of the guy who faked being dumb to avoid talking to his wife for years. A king.

Loveless. That’s why it’s harder to find anybody now. Everybody is catching a cruise. For them, affection must involve PDA and you must be involved with the individual. Whatever happened to buying me a new car? (As friends though). Everybody has a heart of stone. Nobody acknowledges feelings. Everything is destined to end in premium tears so nobody tries anymore. Cheat and I cheat back generation. Idiots. Personally, I’m intentional about anything I do. If I’m into you, I’ll tell you from the get-go. If you start acting like a goat, it’s your loss.

Depressed. This generation is just sad. Depression became something to be desired. In addition to depression, everyone seems to have lost their morals. Anything literally goes. They have created a hook-up culture. When someone does inevitably disagree with what their sexual morals entail, they become very, very offended. Parents continuing to do their children’s washing-up and household chores is another reason why they never learn to get a grip. Selfish, lazy victims who take offense at everything.

Savagery. Everybody is savage. You have to be a special type of moron to make fun of your teachers.  If you were that smart, why did anyone think it necessary to pay all those fees for you to have a session with them? Someone trips and falls heavily on the ground, and rather than help the person up, your default reaction is to bring out your phone to film? Making fun of your significant other, making them feel inadequate will earn you a seat at Lucifers’ table.

Artificial. They care so much about their looks. Why are you so bothered about the clothes you wear? You’re practically homeless! I personally feel more parents should practice kicking their materialistic kids out of the house randomly. Plastic surgery used to be something that only the celebs did and were something almost laughable just a few years ago. Now it is so readily available to any “normal” person. Now they are reaching for the knife – while proclaiming self-love and body positivity.

Entitled. This generation believes that just because they exist and breathe air, the world owes them something. The answer to this problem is simple – people will always disagree with you, just like how people will disagree with this post in general. If you can’t take the heat, don’t put it out there to the world. If you’re strong enough, then maybe you’re not a snowflake after all. This generation loves to use the free speech card and claim it as part of their values. In reality, they only believe in free speech when it agrees with them.

Opinionated. We did not inherit the silence of our mothers. Hence we talk too much. This generation loves to gossip. Everybody is in everybody else business. Do I want to hear about the woman with three teenage pregnant daughters? No! Am I intrigued by the story and want to hear the nitty-gritty details? Well, yeah! And that’s why reality TV shows gross so well. Everybody wants to put their nose into someone else’s business. It is why the Kardashian franchise exists. It is why there are Big Brother spin-offs in every country. A show dedicated to celebrating foolishness.

Offended. One of the main issues in this day and age is cyberbullying which leads to so many more conflicts like suicide and school shootings, which cause even more conflicts. My solution to cyberbullying? Just walk away from the screen. But seriously, you can’t possibly be offended at everything? Truly, social media is making this never-ending chain reaction of negatives. I can wake up and say that I love cornflakes, and some idiot will shout back at me that I’m putting oats down. Next thing you know Oat Lives Matter is trending on Twitter. Faux outrage.

Bandwagonism. Nobody is even pretending to be unique anymore. Be careful when you blindly follow the masses. Sometimes the M is silent. We get on the bandwagon in all sorts of ways. Some minor, others major. Some of you are sheep when it comes to opinions. Don’t feel stupid if you don’t like what everybody pretends to love. Mainstream music is just some watered down trash. A number of rappers calling themselves baby jumping around with pants below their waists. Listen to the old good shit.

Shamelessness. What I hate most about this generation is the shamelessness. You can’t even make people feel bad for being obese anymore. Good-natured bullying has been overtaken by snowflakes on the internet preaching acceptance. They have a comeback for everything. They admit all their failures and refuse to change or improve. They’re bad at something? That’s okay. It’s not the end of the world. We all die eventually, hardworking or lazy. In the end, as lousy as this generation is…

their parents were worse.

  1. Unfortunately, modern technology, particularly with cyber media, has created an almost robotic generation of non-free thinkers. And so much youth are unwilling to accept a lower wage and just get their foot in the door…instead– having higher expectations of the high 5 or low 6 figures of salaries when finally getting their degrees. 2000 grads from SDSU’s business school are not all going to receive high end accounting jobs. Gotta stop here… otherwise… Have a wonderful day.

  2. It’s all true.. Life is very sad when you think about it. It is very difficult to forge true connections with other people, to have intimate friendships, to really know someone and to be known. Everything is so superficial, not deep at all. No such thing as romance. Think about songs on the radio–there really aren’t love songs anymore, or songs that reference love for a single individual. It’s all hook up shit now. I am lucky that I have a solid relationship, otherwise I’d be totally alone. It’s too hard to make real friends when you’re trying to hang out with someone and get to know them and all they’re doing is checking their phone and texting other people constantly.

  3. Interesting post. I think a lot of the problems this generation has are just normal for most young people (ex. low self-esteem, problems with emotional maturity, finding an identity). These are just the teenage years. But thanks to the internet, misinformation and negative ideas spread faster and farther, so the internet really makes all these problems that come normally with these developmental years a lot worse and more complicated.

Reminds me of a line from a song, “Every generation, blames the one before” — Mike and the Mechanics.

So now I am interested in your thoughts on my generation. You know, the OLD people?? LOL

    1. Haha, if you read through this post and you’re still somehow in the dark then I don’t think I can help you any further. I feel like the short version of my thoughts would be that your generation inspired this generation today. This is your creation! πŸ˜‚

      1. And I would say, that it is up to each generation to overcome the faults of the past and become better people. But it is easier for a person to try to play the blame game rather than be accountable for their own actions. I’m not sure what age group you consider “this generation” because I have a 47 year old daughter who has a 20 year old daughter, so I consider the 20 year old “this generation”. That is why I asked what you thought of OLD people LOL. At any rate, yes, parents influence children and they go on to influence their children. I agree with a lot that you said, but at the same time, you lump everyone into a category “this generation” where I see a lot of individuality in the younger generation.
I will go back and re-read this though because I could be missing something. Remember, I am new follower so I have to get to know how you write and how you think so I don’t misread what you are actually saying. I will say this much, you are a gifted writer and I love your sense of humor. Now I am off to go play shuffleboard or whatever it is my generation likes to do these days πŸ˜‰

        1. haha, and let the church rise, since you already shared the grace πŸ˜‡

I’m think maybe I tilted a little to the younger generation so they are more likely to relate to the things I mentioned.

Finally, I see you’re big on family values and individuals being held responsible for their decisions. I’m with you on that.

  5. Have i told you how amazing you and your writing is?

Everything you wrote is so true.

    From communication to shamlessness.

And it is so rampant and it is very tiring, from lack of communication to lovelessness to savagery etc.

I had a recent fallout with some ladies because i refused to do the same stuff that they were doing. I was branded difficult , “i did not Jasy” but i didnt care because to me i saw what they were doing as a shameless, stressful, myopic activity and they were all forming, trying to belong πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ to my suprise they were offended πŸ˜‚
I simply just sorry, they should carry on as i am busy and dont have time. They felt like they are entitled to my time.

Sometimes when humans are gathered together , it can be tiring.

    This right here is premium
“We did not inherit the silence of our mothers”.

I will add that our mothers spoke up for what is right and when it was right and if suitable.

I saw shots fired to mainstream musicπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    Well done

    1. Haha, I think you have a couple of times Kadishi 😊

People can’t understand when you refuse to have a herd mentality. They immediately brand you difficult.

Haha, I hate mainstream music so much. And I think it has affected even my favorite artists because if you don’t sound like that, you’re not getting the streams you desire.

  6. I think you are selling yourself cheap with asking for a new car; it should be a yacht. It’s not PDA it’s plain ole sex in the back alley of the restaurant with the person whose first name you just learnt 1hr ago.

I agree there is something tender about today’s population. I could blame it on the generation ?? (I don’t know what letter gen we are at) but I also see seasoned old (is relative) farts getting in on the act. Feedback is bad, bandwagon thinking is good, you are ‘cancelled’ for foolishness and telling people in bra top paired with micro shorts who have fat rolls with rolls to eat better is fat shaming. A person left to continue in his/her foolish ways will lead to his/her own demise (the bible said it more poetically).

    1. Haha, you’re certainly in the spirit on the Lord’s day. I need me a yacht now πŸ˜‚

The bible really covered the entire lot. Didn’t want to sound too preachy but that last bit is definitely spot on.

  7. I am grateful to you. After so many years and 7 minutes of actual viewing time…. you have cleared up the mind blowing and perplexing mystery of certain people’s fascination of the Kardashians for me! I could never, ever, figure it out. They offer nothing of true value, it was like like 7 minutes of eating styrofoam. Finally, I get it it. Thank you so much!

    1. Haha, I’m not even one to hate on a successful business model, but the fact that they ‘still’ make money off people who spend an ungodly amount of time watching them live their lives will be forever baffling to me.

  8. Unfortunately, I think I have to agree with you. I’m 20 years old, making me part of the Gen Z generation, and although I personally don’t see myself as rude, opinionated or savage, majority of the people around my age and especially those younger are definitely the way you described. I sometimes get mad about all this as well when I see my younger sibling say things or act in ways that I would never even think of (and he still acts different, meaning more kindly and politely compared to the other kids his age), so I can’t even imagine having to constantly deal with people who are simply artificial and rude for no reason. Great post!

        1. Haha, I’m saying you have to take your flaws one at a time.

Then I focused on communication and how important it is.

If you’re not able to communicate, nobody can guess how your mind works.

And those interested in you cannot read your mind to know the kinds of things you like.

I do hope this is better 😊
