There has to be some kind of personal hygiene bar that a person needs to clear for a relationship to be successful. Personal hygiene is the most basic yet highly ignored daily habit. Many depressed people especially teenagers ignore it despite the fact that only a healthy body can yield a moderate mental temperament. You’re not depressed, you’re just a dirty pig.

Man does not live by soap alone; and hygiene, or even health. It’s not much good unless you take a healthy view of it or, better still, feel a healthy indifference to it. Some people wash their hands after doing a number, only because there’s someone else in the bathroom and they don’t want to seem gross. Now go wash your hands and apply some lotion.

Hygiene is two thirds of health. And that’s why you should never share a towel. A way to get better at this hygiene thing is to have people over. Nothing inspires cleanliness more than an unexpected guest. If you’re also having difficulty sleeping or are not getting enough sleep or sleep of good quality, you need to learn the basics of sleep hygiene. Change that bedsheet, it’s March already.

Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct. They are matters of education. And like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them. Yes, you have to explain to your two year old why it’s bad to eat poop. Irony is the hygiene of the mind. My house is clean enough to be healthy, and dirty enough to be happy.

You smell like armpit. No seriously, that’s the closest smell I associate with you. Or would you prefer if I said you smelled like an alley? Why do you think your manager keeps asking you to work the night shift? Nobody is trying to die on your watch. Yeah that’s right, keep digging into your nostrils. You’ll soon find the crude oil you’re looking for.

Good grammar is like personal hygiene. You can ignore it if you want, but don’t be surprised when people draw their own conclusions. You can smell good six days a week but it counts for very little if you smell awful on the one day. Wear your mask! If you’re refusing to wear a mask due to concerns your brain won’t get enough oxygen, I think that ship has already sailed.

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well neither does bathing, and that’s why we recommend it daily. Environment sustainability is like maintaining personal hygiene at a different scale. I’m a fan of personal hygiene, so I embrace water. Hygiene sometimes isn’t a priority with some people. So my public health message is basically this.

  2. I remember, when I was young, having to take two years of grammar. Not just disscecting sentences, but words. It was a ridiculous enterprise. This is why I make up words, right and left. Every word is made up by someone, as is grammar, but grammer is more like scientology. You have to believe it to care about it.
