What it is. Addiction is the only disease that manipulates your mind and assures you that you don’t have it. We all have vices. Some more harmless than the others. Choose your poison carefully. Alcohol is the perfect solvent, it dissolves marriages, families and careers. To love an addict is to run out of tears. It’s an effort in futility. Don’t save her, she doesn’t want to be saved. Save your tears for another day.
Internet. I hear Internet addiction is now an official mental disorder and you can go to rehab for it. I’m only going to a rehab center if there’s free WiFi. My parents should be proud of me. I’m addicted to internet and not drugs. Some people fall in love with strangers on the internet and get heartbroken. Others get bullied and insulted. But it still doesn’t make them stop or take a break. They’re addicted to the pain. On cyber bullying, all you have to do is walk away from the screen!

Person. You know you are human when a beautiful image appearing on television appears more alive than a living being. Basically we are stupid. Some people bring out the worst in you, others bring out the best. Then there are those remarkably addictive ones who just bring out the most. Of everything. They make you feel so alive that you’d follow them straight into hell, just to keep getting your fix. Run.
Depressed. My wife says she’s leaving me because of my addiction to antidepressants. So I thought about it and realized; that’s great then, I won’t need them anymore. I heard there is a pill that will cure addiction. I just wonder what two of them will do. I might be dead inside, but I promise everyday I try to brighten people’s lives. If you’re like me who’s addicted to making others happy, gather here for a group selfie. 🤳
Agree. If you’re going to deal with an addiction, you have to agree that you have one. Every form of addiction is bad. In a power outage, the first step is admitting that you are powerless. I’m addicted to buying gadgets and I am simply not rich enough to have this problem. I’m not addicted to Twitter, I just use it when I have time. Like lunchtime, dinner time, this time, that time, all the time.
Attitude. A bad attitude is like a flat tire. You can’t go anywhere until you change it. Although I’ve seen a lunatic or two that kept driving on the rims. They’d rather ruin the car than change the flat tire. Addiction doesn’t kill the addict. It kills the family, kids and people who tried to help. So if you’re an addict, you might want to kill them first to accelerate the process of your recovery. Since you’ve decided to be a killer.
Way out. Addiction is just a way of trying to get at something else. Something bigger. Call it transcendence if you want, but it’s like a rat in a maze. We all want the same thing. We all have this hole. The thing you want offers relief, but it’s a trap. Busy is a drug that a lot of people are addicted to. You don’t have time? Newsflash, nobody does! Remember kids, if a stranger offers you drugs, say ‘thank you’.

“Busy is a drug that a lot of people are addicted to” Now that one’s just way too relatable. And the last line is gold lol

Addiction is a terrible thing. It messes up a persons life. You did a great job with this post. I loved the way you showed how it hurts the family. Goood job.

Thank you Molly, I tried my best to show how badly it affects those around you. Heartbreaking to watch sometimes

We have a situation in our family where one of my children decided to walk that road. I thought you treated the subject with humor whole remaining respectful. It’s important to be able to laugh at the tragedy in life.

Haha, it’s also important not to cry more than the bereaved. They might recover eventually and you won’t

I live in a building full of addicts and I’m always being asked (leaning forward) are you ALRIGHT living there.
Yes, I’m totally fine. Because I’m not depressed and unhappy with my life. It’s those twin factors which are the pincers which pin you to the addiction wall.

That’s crazy? How do you cope?

I agreed with everything until the last sentence. I have watched people lose due to drugs, alcohol, bad relationships, etc.. Addictions are terrible but remember, you can’t help those who don’t want help.

I know, addictions are terrible. They don’t wan’t to be saved. Sadly

Addictive- One who drives after being drunk.
Non- addictive- The one who calls Uber…after being drunk

Haha, both are addicts. How do you drink so much, you’re out of control?
