The Game of Life

Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. If you’re going to raise your hand at anybody, you better be sure you can take them on. It’s always comical watching the aggressor get their ass handed to them. It’s like, you asked for it. If my girlfriend gets into an argument with a guy bigger and stronger than me, we’re just going to have to agree to disagree with him.

It’s just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, babies poop, and waves crash against the shore. I beat people up. As a service to the state. You gotta have fun. Regardless of how you look at it, we’re playing a game. It’s a business, it’s our job, but I don’t think you can do well unless you’re having fun. If you go around being afraid, you’re never going to enjoy life. Beat someone up today.

Run my race. I feel like I’m the best, but you’re not going to get me to say that. When you’re talking, you don’t always know what you’re saying. But when you’re listening, you know exactly what you’re hearing. Unless of course, you’ve got wax in your ear and you’re partially deaf.

Sports do not build character, they reveal it. It’s all fun and games until it becomes a little more competitive. And then you watch people you love and respect lie and cheat their way to win. Your body language is a billboard for your mental toughness and maturity. Some of you are advanced in age but with the petulance of a three-year-old.

I’m like tax, you’re going to pay one way or another. Swimming is a confusing sport because sometimes you do it for fun, and other times you do it not to die. And sometimes when I’m swimming, I’m not sure which one it is. The good news is, I don’t run away from challenges, I run over them.

Love is playing every game like it’s your last. Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Buy a helmet and try again. Or figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. All a lot more glamorous than the former. It’s about winning, isn’t it? If winning isn’t everything, why do they keep score?

Football is football and talent is talent. But the mindset of your team makes all the difference. The reason women don’t play football is that 11 of them would never wear the same outfit in public. For playing football, you need one ball. For doing a Triathlon, you need two. Do you know what my favourite part of the game is?

  1. I love the bit about “…playing every game like it’s your last” and why woman don’t play football! I would agree to that!! As you will never find me in a football field! Haha

Another very enjoyable read. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! ☺️☺️

  2. “For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load” (Galatians 6: 3-5).

          1. In truth, I wouldn’t even attack if it were just mere words. People are entitled to say a fair amount of bs. But when you start attacking the innocent is where I draw the line

          2. I did ignore them in the beginning but they did have sense enough to go on about their business and shut the devil up. Years after years they were talking the same old B.S. Mere words can do inconceivable damage to a person’s life if the person can find enough idiots to believe them. No you don’t have a right to say a fair amount of B.S. if you know it is going to cause someone harm. The person being talked about has a right to whip the speaker’s ass. 🙂 ☺️

          3. Most people don’t give out a deserved asswhopping anymore because of the advent of cancel Culture.

They would rather completely abandon their beliefs to stay on the right side of social media debates

          4. Haha, it’s the same as most people. You think they’re on to something positive but they’re not.

They’re just seeking things and people to cancel. In an attempt to be deep woke, they go against everything they once believed in. Shocking

          5. I don’t understand that culture. I call it being a follower. Sure, everyone is not going to agree with your opinion. But that still doesn’t mean you have to fall behind the popular opinion. I mean, you don’t if you are living in a safe society.

          6. I don’t know what the conservatives are like in your country but these in America are the kings and queens of cancelled culture. Some things are just a matter of respecting your fellow human. If we can do that then a lot of problems will be solved.

  3. I am so down with being like tax. I make sure the universe knows how much tax I am. Loved it, as usual. Beat someone up today, is another thing I get. We are always game to play. Once engaged, all bets are off. Anything can happen. Actually, I am more like a crocodile. Did you know a large, very big crocodile roars just like a lion and as loud, but he’s not as fast so you can run away if your brain hasn’t frozen like a screen does. Love and Light dear Lad. Onward and upward.

  4. I see this title and It makes me think of the old song from the 60’s “Game of Love” Gosh…how the mind wanders! …Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders.. Santana also did a version. However, I agree you have to have fun…whatever happens. …

  5. This is a good piece. My favorite is the football and women not wearing the same outfit. haha We all should just do the best we can regardless of what we are doing and be kind to others. Thank goodness winning truly is not everything or most people would never get involved in many things. There is something to say about an interesting experience and just being with people and having fun.
