Surviving the Fittest

I don’t like that my chances of survival seem to be linked to the common sense of others. Nursing is not a career—it’s a post apocalyptic survival skill. If you can’t administer CPR at this age, of what good are you to society?

The fact that there’s a highway to hell and only a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic numbers. No man goes before his time—unless the boss leaves early. Coffee is vital for survival. Dinosaurs didn’t have coffee and look how that turned out.

Humor can be one of your best survival tools. It’s too bad the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs and cutting hair. Those in charge are clearly out of their depth. Nobody knows the country better than the street urchin.

Don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning. Work on your appetite for risk, it is the indicator of your survival chances. It is not the strongest of the species that survive, but the ones responsive to change. Think cockroaches.

Extinction is the rule, survival is the exception. Survival can be summed up in three words, never give up. That’s the heart of it really. Keep trying. Sometimes I wonder if all of this is happening because I didn’t forward that email to ten people.

Yes I walked away mid-conversation. You were boring me to death and my survival skills kicked in. Laughter is not the best medicine, vitamin C is. A lie told a thousand times is still a lie. Take your vitamins and stay hydrated.

It’s funny how the world works, how we win and lose, how we never really know what’s ahead but we never stop planning. How we survive and move on. There’s a sadness that comes with survival, but also more joy to be had. To live is to suffer.

To suffer is to find meaning in suffering.

  5. Survival itself is a survival skill, that’s why boring conversations should be avoided at all costs. Except of course the other party holds the keys to your survival (read thriving) 😂
