Like the movies

My life is like a movie and I do my own stunts. If you hear that I slapped someone, it’s probably because it’s me. A good movie makes the audience feel like they’ve journeyed with the characters. So if you feel a sting on your left cheek, it’s just because of great writing on my part.

Life is just like a movie, the characters come and go as seen in the movies. But there is a difference, movies last only three hours. Ours last a little too long and there are no end credit scenes. Life is like a camera, focus on what’s important and capture the good times. You’ll be able to delude yourself.

Life is like a movie. Write your own ending, keep believing, keep pretending. The older I get, the more I realize that not everything always goes as planned, but this is not some fairy tale movie. This is real life and things happen. No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.

I think cinema, movies and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made movies were magicians. We all love films and storytelling as a people. It’s just human compulsion to listen and tell stories. It’s why lying comes so naturally to us.

Faking your own death is illegal, yet faking your life is celebrated. Some people fake their death, I’m trying my best to fake my life and it’s not been easy. On the plus side, death is one of the few things that can be done as easily as lying down.

Life is like a movie. If you are sad, that’s Drama. If you are afraid, Suspense. If you are angry, you need Action. When you look in the mirror, that’s Horror. Now you are smiling, that’s Comedy. I promise you couldn’t write this script even if you tried.
