Having a Hard Time

No matter how bad things are, you can always make things worse. Don’t limit yourself. If you keep digging, the hole might get big enough to bury you and yours. You can’t be both awesome and negative, choose one. Life is like an onion; you peel off one layer at a time and sometimes you weep.

Don’t lead, I’ll wander off bored. Don’t follow, I’ll get lost. Walk beside me and help me cause trouble. Oh, you think mischief is your ally. You merely adopted the mischief; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t do good until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but weakness!

Every time you find humor in a difficult situation, you win. Staying positive doesn’t mean that you have to be happy all the time. It means that even on hard days you know that there are better ones coming, or worse ones. Whichever is the case, you brace yourself for impact.

May your hard times last only as long as a Kardashian marriage. Difficulty does not leave you until you learn from it. This probably explains why you’ve been poor all your life. You simply haven’t learned anything about poverty. Or worse still, you’re in denial about it all. Ten years isn’t a phase. It’s your life now.

There are three types of people in your life you should never forget. People who helped you in your difficult times. People who left you in your difficult times and people who put you in difficult times. There will also be people that tick all those boxes. Keep them close.

There are some things you can only learn in a storm. Look for something positive in each day, even if some days you have to look a little harder. Sometimes I just want someone to hug me and say, “I know it’s hard. You’re going to be okay. Here’s some chocolate and six million dollars”. Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?

There is no sunrise so beautiful that is worth waking me up to see it. The pill to go through hard times is sleep. It takes hard work and dedication to find time for an afternoon nap. As you go through the worst, stay quiet. It’s a common delusion that you can make things better by talking about them. Life is hard. It’s harder if you’re poor.
