Fresh Start

Monday is like a fresh start. It’s like a new year, but every week! Sometimes our lives have to be completely shaken up, changed, and rearranged to relocate us to the place we were are meant to be. That being said, you may need to commit a heinous crime and serve time in prison to really kick on.

Allow yourself to be a beginner. No one starts off excellent. It’s why I get upset when I see people put up a profiles that say “Life Coach”. Have you done life before, who made you the subject matter expert? Exactly where did you draw your wealth of wisdom from?

Nothing is predestined. The obstacles of your past can become the gateways that lead to new beginnings. Making a resolution this year to ‘be better.’ Better at naps, snacks, snaps and sarcasm. And may all your troubles last as long as your New Year’s resolutions.

Failure is not fatal. It’s the courage to continue that counts. Perhaps this is where our choice lies. In determining how we will meet the inevitable end of things, and how we will greet each new beginning. Choice is ignoring the phone and watching it ring five consecutive times.

If you want something new, you have to stop doing something old. What you’re supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is to change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it. Don’t complain. Complaining is a pointless exercise that is mildly irritating.

Be ready for new energy and new beginnings. Don’t be scared of new people, new energy, new surroundings, new challenges. Embrace new chances at happiness. You get around three of those every quarter, use them wisely. If that doesn’t work, create your own delusions.

This is the beginning of anything you want.

  1. I particularly liked, “ What you’re supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is to change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.” Easy to say; hard to do. But, I’ll give it a try. Hoe can I think about the mess this world is in differently? Stop watching the news or reading “Tangle” maybe?
