Rude Awakening

Being real doesn’t mean you have to be rude. Never respond to rudeness. When people are rude to you, they reveal who they are, not who you are. Don’t take it personally. It is best to remain silent. Rudeness is a weak imitation of strength. If you can’t be kind, be quiet.

There is a difference between expressing your opinion and being rude. Kindness is not weakness. Rude people make this mistake because they have never experienced true strength. Life is too short to waste your time on people who don’t respect, appreciate and value you.

True emotional maturity. Refuse to be offended. When people ignore, or are mean or rude to you, they’re telling you what is within themselves. They might also secretly be in love with the life that you have, and want it for themselves. Continue to kill them with kindness.

Being rude is easy. It doesn’t take any effort and is a sign of weakness and insecurity. Kindness shows great self-discipline and strong self esteem. Kindness is a sign of a person who has done a lot of personal work and has come to a great self-understanding and wisdom.

Stop being rude in the name of being straightforward. Being mannerless does not make you cool. There’s a huge difference between being direct and being disrespectful. Be kind over being right and you’ll be right every time because kindness is a the only way to be right.

If someone treats you badly, just remember that there is something wrong with them, and not you. Normal people don’t go around destroying other human beings. A rude tongue comes with a kind heart. But we will notice the tongue and never the heart. We simply can’t see it!

There is no excuse to be rude

  2. This really resonates. I like the point that being direct isn’t the same as being disrespectful. Choosing kindness over reacting to rudeness takes real strength, just important to pair it with clear boundaries too.

  3. I often wonder as to why some folks feel being rude is a sign of strength….Bro, you’re weak. If no one has told you, the quiet, kind and unassuming folks are the ones you don’t see coming. Once I notice you’re rude, I know that’s all there is to you, nothing more.

  4. Bernie Capone was a general manager for one of our clients in Las Vegas. Full-blown mafia looking guy, black suit, white tie, gold jewelry, etc.
One day he called with a request, and I responded, “Yes sir!”
Bennie: “Sir?! I’m from New York, and we say ‘fuck you.'”
Me: “Well I’m from the midwest, and we were taught to say ‘fuck you, Sir.'”

He laughed and hung up on me. We were on great terms for the rest of the project.
