The mind is like a parachute, it works best when it is open. In fact, the mind and parachutes don’t work at all when closed. When one door closes, another opens. Or open the closed door. That’s how doors work. Open your mind before you open your mouth. 

The only thing that permits human beings to collaborate with one another in a truly open-ended way is their willingness to have their beliefs modified by new facts. That being said, some people aren’t just missing a few screws, the whole toolbox is gone. 

Life is not a fairytale. If you lose your shoe at midnight, you’re drunk. Never keep up with the joneses. Drag them down to your level. It’s much cheaper. In the end you realize the best thing in life is not something you can touch, but something you can feel. 

Don’t be afraid to be open minded. Your brain isn’t going to fall out. Talking to someone with an open mind is seriously one of my favorite things because there’s never an end to what you can talk about and learn. There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen. 

Imagine answering “How are you?” with complete honesty. I’d probably end up institutionalized. Ironically, it’s the only way I expect people to answer when I ask.  The first time I see a jogger smiling, I’ll consider it. At the end of every day life should ask us…

“Are you sure you want to save the changes?”

  7. Life doesn’t always go along the lines we anticipate, and at times it is the unexpected turns that take us precisely to where we need to be. By remaining open-minded, curious, and ready to accept changes, all the difference can be made.

  9. Some of the most closed-minded people I’ve ever met claim to be open-minded. Some of the most open-minded people I’ve met are merely gullible. I like people who play in the gray zone. They’re more fun.
